Terms of Use & License

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of PhotoEditR software and the photoeditr.com website ("Service"), operated by the PhotoEditR team ("we", "us", or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using PhotoEditR, you agree to these Terms.

1. License grant

Free / browser use. The web-based version of PhotoEditR may be used for free in your browser, subject to these Terms. Free use includes a watermark on exports. No purchase is required to evaluate the software.

Lifetime license. Upon purchasing a Lifetime License, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, perpetual license to install and use the current version of PhotoEditR on your own devices for personal and commercial client work. The license is for one person. You may install it on up to three of your own devices simultaneously.

2. What you may do

You may use PhotoEditR to create, edit, and export images for personal projects, client work, commercial projects, and social media content. You may keep and use any outputs (images, graphics) you create with PhotoEditR without restriction.

3. What you may not do

You may not: (a) sell, sublicense, redistribute, or transfer the PhotoEditR application or your license key to another person; (b) reverse-engineer, decompile, or modify the software except to the extent permitted by applicable law; (c) use PhotoEditR to build a competing product; or (d) share your license key publicly.

4. Updates and future versions

A Lifetime License covers all minor and patch updates to the purchased major version (e.g., v0.x and v9.x). Major version upgrades may be offered at a discounted upgrade price. We will provide reasonable notice before ending support for a major version.

5. Refund policy

We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you are not satisfied with PhotoEditR within 30 days of purchase, email support@photoeditr.com with your order email and we will process a full refund. After 30 days, purchases are final. Refunds are not available for purchases made through third-party resellers.

6. Open-source components and font notices

PhotoEditR includes open-source libraries and fonts distributed under their respective licenses (MIT, Apache 2.0, SIL Open Font License, etc.). Third-party notices are included in the FONT_NOTICES.md and THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md files distributed with the software.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

PhotoEditR is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the software will be error-free or uninterrupted.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of PhotoEditR is limited to the amount you paid for your license. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the revised Terms with an updated effective date. Continued use of the software after changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
