Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 1, 2026
PhotoEditR ("we", "our", or "us") operates the website at photoeditr.com and distributes the PhotoEditR desktop and web application. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how you can control it.
1. Local-first design
PhotoEditR is built as a local-first application. All image editing — layers, masks, filters, exports — happens entirely in your browser or on your local device. Your photos and project files are never uploaded to our servers during normal editing use. We do not have access to the images you edit.
2. Information we collect
Website analytics. This website uses Google Analytics (via Google Tag Manager) to collect anonymised usage data: pages visited, session duration, device type, and approximate geographic region. This data is aggregated and does not identify you personally. You can opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or by blocking analytics scripts in your browser.
Purchase information. When you buy a license, payment is processed by Stripe. We receive a Stripe session ID and your email address from Stripe so we can generate and deliver your license key. We do not collect or store your card details — those remain with Stripe under their PCI-compliant environment.
Support communications. If you contact us by email or through the contact form, we receive your name, email address, and message. We use this information only to respond to your request.
Download logs. Our hosting provider may log IP addresses and download requests for security and bandwidth monitoring. These logs are retained according to our host's standard log-rotation policy.
3. How we use your information
We use data to: (a) deliver the software and license key you purchased; (b) respond to support requests; (c) understand aggregate usage of this website so we can improve it; and (d) comply with legal obligations. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.
4. Cookies and tracking
This website sets analytics cookies (Google Analytics) and may set a session cookie for the contact form. We do not use advertising tracking cookies. You can manage cookies through your browser settings.
5. Third-party services
We use the following third-party services whose privacy policies govern data they collect independently:
- Google Analytics / Google Ads — usage analytics and conversion tracking (policies.google.com/privacy)
- Stripe — payment processing (stripe.com/privacy)
- Our hosting provider's infrastructure logs
6. Data retention
We retain purchase records (email address + license key) as long as you may need to request license recovery. Support emails are retained for a reasonable period to maintain context. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics default settings (up to 14 months). You can request deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing us.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you are located, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you, or to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email support@photoeditr.com. We will respond within 30 days.
8. Children
PhotoEditR is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our practices change. We will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the website or software after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
10. Contact
